Dell Reportedly In Talks With EMC Over Possible Merger

(RTTNews) - Dell Inc. is in talks over a combination with EMC Corp. (EMC), the Wall Street Journal reported citing to people familiar with the matter.

It is unclear whether the two companies are discussing a full or partial takeover of EMC, and it is possible no deal will be reached, the Journal said.

EMC had held talks with Dell, the Journal reported in September 2014. EMC also had been in discussions about a merger with Hewlett-Packard Co., which ended before H-P announced plans to split itself in two in October 2014.

EMC closed Wednesday trading at $25.96, up $0.15 or 0.58%. In after hours, the stock further gained $2.04 or 7.86%.
