CSR Appoints Semiconductor Veteran Klaus Buehring as SVP of Product Development

Gearing up for the next phase of company evolution, CSR plc. (LSE:CSR) today announced the appointment of Klaus Buehring to the newly created position of senior vice president of product development. A 25-year semiconductor industry veteran, Buehring will be responsible for the engineering development of all core CSR products, including commercial silicon and core software products.

"The merger of CSR and SiRF has expanded our product range and market opportunity significantly, and ensuring continuous innovation and timely execution is vital to strengthening our leadership position in our markets,” said Joep van Beurden, CSR’s CEO. "With Klaus bringing his enviable track record and extensive industry experience to this new position, we are now able to scale our organization to meet our customers’ needs for both breakthrough inventions and time-driven execution of our product roadmap.”

According to van Beurden, CSR founder and chief technology officer James Collier will continue to head the company’s research organization, which will maintain its focus on invention-driven breakthrough innovations.

"CSR has developed a global reputation for inventing and developing market leading products in the highly-competitive market for connectivity, location and audio platforms and I am thrilled by this opportunity to lead CSR’s product development organization at this very exciting moment in the company’s history,” said Klaus Buehring, senior vice president of product development for CSR. "I look forward to working with the talented team of technologists and managers to bring a broad range of innovative and exciting new products to market in a timely manner.”

Klaus Buehring is widely recognized as a wireless semiconductor industry leader, responsible for the successful launch of many "industry first” technologies. Prior to joining CSR, Buehring was senior vice president and general manager of the RF, Analog & Sensor Group at Freescale Semiconductor, and led the turnaround of the company’s billion dollar Radio Products Division. Prior to Freescale, Buehring served as vice president and general manager of the Power Amplifier Division at Skyworks Solutions, and before that held the same position at Conexant Systems.

Buehring started his career at Rockwell International in 1983, and held positions of increasing responsibility spanning key marketing and engineering roles. In 1995 Buehring was named Rockwell’s Engineer of the Year for his contribution to the development of GaAs HBT power amplifiers.
