Cowen Group Announces New Hire to Health Care Research Group

Cowen Group, Inc. ("Cowen”) (NASDAQ: COWN) today announced that Edward Nash has joined the firm as Director and Senior Research Analyst. Based in New York, Mr. Nash will cover biotechnology in the health care sector of Cowen’s Research group and report to Barry Tarasoff, Cowen’s Director of Research.

Mr. Nash joins Cowen from ROTH Capital Partners where he was a Senior Analyst covering biotechnology. While at ROTH, Mr. Nash focused on the therapeutic areas of HCV, RNAi, vaccines, and drug delivery. Prior to this, Mr. Nash was a Senior Analyst at Merriman Curhan Ford, Inc. and held similar roles at Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Rodman & Renshaw, Inc., and SG Cowen Asset Management, Inc.

Mr. Nash received his B.S. from Spring Hill College in Biology and Chemistry and an M.P.H. in Epidemiology from University of Alabama at Birmingham. He also holds an MBA in Finance and an M.S. in International Business from University of Miami.
