Covidien: Puritan Bennett 980 Ventilator Wins CE Mark Approval

(RTTNews) - Covidien Plc. (COV), a provider of healthcare products and recognized innovator in patient monitoring and respiratory care devices, Monday said its Puritan Bennett 980 ventilator has received European Economic Area CE Mark approval.

The new acute care ventilator from Covidien helps enable patients, from neonatal to adult, to breathe more naturally through some innovative breath technology.

The Puritan Bennett 980 ventilator system was also approved for commercial distribution in the U.S., Japan and Canada. It will be available for sale in those countries as well as the European Economic Area in the coming months.
