Corrections cares about community safety: events held provincewide

TORONTO, Jan. 5, 2018 /CNW/ - Correctional and youth justice workers from across Ontario will give back to their communities on January 8.

From their various work locations, corrections members of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union will engage in a wide variety of community-specific charity fundraising events in what they are calling a "Corrections cares about community safety" event.

"We work in volatile and violent workplaces," said Corrections bargaining chair Chris Jackel. "We find that giving back to the community is an effective means to cope with the daily stress we face. This outreach keeps us focused on the reason we do what we do every day."
