Congress To Investigate EpiPen Pricing; Mylan CEO To Testify

(RTTNews) - Mylan CEO Heather Bresch will testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on September 21 regarding the price increases for its allergy auto-injector EpiPen.

Mylan's EpiPen is the predominant epinephrine autoinjector, a device and drug used for the emergency treatment of life-threatening allergic reactions, in the US market.

Mylan is facing a widespread outrage from lawmakers and the public after the company implemented sharp price increases for its EpiPen. Mylan had acquired the product in 2007. It recently raised the list price for a pair of EpiPen auto-injectors to $600, up from about $100 in 2008.
