Concurrent ImaGen IG Solution Selected by Hyundai Rotem for K-Series Tank Platoon Simulator Program
Concurrent (NASDAQ:CCUR), a leading provider of time-critical Linux®
operating systems and integrated software and computer solutions for
mission-critical applications, today announced that KCEI Co., Ltd.
(KCEI), an authorized Concurrent Value-Added Reseller in South Korea,
will provide to Hyundai Rotem a large number of ImaGen™
visual server powered by RedHawk™ Linux®
for the visual systems of K-Series Tank Platoon Simulator (KTPS) Program
in South Korea. The KTPS is the first virtual tactical tank simulation
trainer developed under the Defense R&D Program of Korea Defense
Acquisition Program Administration (KDAPA).
Hyundai Rotem, as main contractor of the KTPS Program, plays a critical
role in strengthening the Korean defense posture by developing K1/K1A1
tank and its family of vehicles. Hyundai Rotem, a worldwide leader in
the advanced defense industry, specializes in the design and integration
of land weapon systems and in the development of advanced armored
systems.
The initial purchase order from KCEI accommodates tank simulators with
thirty-two (32) ImaGen visual servers powered by Concurrent’s
RedHawk real-time Linux as the image generation engine. Each tank
simulator’s ImaGen configuration will include
eight (8) channels running Vega Prime™, award
winning COTS visualization software from Presagis. The Concurrent
RedHawk real-time Linux and Vega Prime™
integrated solution offers a best-of-class high-fidelity, COTS-based PC
image generation system. KCEI has a three year contract to support the
KTPS Program with Concurrent providing second tier support to KCEI for
Concurrent’s ImaGen visual servers.
