Communitech names Steve McCartney as Vice President of Startup Services Group

WATERLOO REGION, ON, Sept. 19, 2013 /CNW/ - Communitech is pleased to appoint Steve McCartney as the Vice President of the Startup Services Group. In this role, Steve is responsible for the growth and development of startup-focused programming for Communitech's almost 700 startup clients.

"We're glad to have Steve back to share his knowledge and experience with our clients and members," said Iain Klugman, Communitech's CEO and President. "Steve has been involved in Waterloo's tech and startup community since 2003. We're a better community because of him."

Steve was the President and CEO of Atria Networks from 2003 - 2009 and most recently served as the President and CEO of Bering Media. Steve also served on the Communitech board from 2004-2009, and was instrumental in bringing the Intelligent Communities Forum to Waterloo Region. He continues to be a supporter of youth and educational causes including the Launchpad 50K.

"It's great to come back. I'm looking forward to being hands on in the growth of this community. I know if a startup comes through Communitech their success is enhanced dramatically through the programming we offer," said Steve McCartney. "Iain and I believe in the same vision for Waterloo Region."
