Under the hood of the 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is a new 1.5L direct-injection turbocharged gasoline engine that is mated to a new CVT with 8-speed Sport Mode manual override. It uses an electronically-controlled 4WD system that feeds the optimum amount of torque to the rear wheels as required by the driving situation and surface conditions. Further aiding performance is Mitsubishi's Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) integrated vehicle dynamics control system.

The new Eclipse Cross features a distinctly sharp and dynamic Mitsubishi SUV coupe form that's distinguished by its wedge profile with distinctive beltline and strong character line, a forward raked rear window, sharply cut off rear gate and short overhang and beefy fenders. Inside the Eclipse Cross, the horizontal dashboard, silver metal frames and black/silver monotone color scheme create a refined interior that is both dynamic and sporty. With its thin display audio and the Head Up Display, the futuristic cockpit inspires a sense of excitement for the driver in the vehicle.
