Business Editors/Transportation Writers
KANSAS CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 14, 2005--Dan Clark, Northern Division Vice President at Central Freight Lines, Inc. (Nasdaq:CENF), announced that Scott Allender has been appointed Terminal Manager in Kansas City, Missouri.
Allender comes to Central with 18 years of transportation experience including management positions at United Parcel Service, Conway Central Express and FedEx freight (formerly America Freightways). His past positions as a hub manager and terminal manager have awarded him a number of accolades, including the FedEx Freight "Terminal Manager of the Year Award."
"We are a service industry powered by people. Our success will be determined by our employees and Scott brings to Central the high energy and follow-up needed to ensure user compliance and success," explained Dan Clark. "His proven track record in terminal management and operations is indicative of the quality management Central affords our customers and employees." To ensure on-time, claims free deliveries, Central recently implemented new processes to minimize freight handling redundancy while optimizing freight flow. The company's Kansas City Hub will play a major role in ensuring this process is successful.
As Terminal Manager, Allender assumes responsibility for overseeing safety and budget-control measures, delivering quality customer service, and developing new business opportunities. "Central has a strong foundation built on customer service, safety and experience," said Allender. "I am thrilled to join a company with an 80-year history that delivers superior brand-name recognition with long-standing customer relationships."
