CenterPoint Energy Q1 Profit Rises, Lifts Annual Earnings View - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - CenterPoint Energy, Inc. (CNP) Thursday reported an increase in net earnings as well as revenues for the first quarter. In addition, the company raised its earnings outlook for the year.

Net earnings for the 3-month period grew to $185 million or $0.43 per share, from $147 million or $0.34 per share a year earlier.

Natural gas expenses increased to $2.043 billion from $1.224 billion a year ago.

First-quarter revenues surged to $3.163 billion from $2.388 billion in the corresponding quarter last year.

Looking ahead, the company raised its annual earnings guidance to $1.10 to $1.10 per share from $1.08 to $1.17 per share projected earlier.
