CenterPoint Energy Inc Reveals 18% Gain In Q1 Profit

(RTTNews) - CenterPoint Energy Inc (CNP) reported a profit for its first quarter that increased compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $154 million, or $0.36 per share. This was up from $131 million, or $0.30 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.31 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 18.5% to $1.98 billion. This was down from $2.43 billion last year.
