CenterPoint Energy Inc Q3 Earnings Climb 23%

(RTTNews) - CenterPoint Energy Inc (CNP) released a profit for its third quarter that climbed compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line rose to $179 million, or $0.41 per share. This was up from $146 million, or $0.34 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.36 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 16.0% to $1.89 billion. This was up from $1.63 billion last year.
