Carlyle Q3 Carry Fund Valuations Rise 4%

(RTTNews) - Global alternative asset manager the Carlyle Group L.P. (CG) Wednesday said its preliminary carry fund valuations increased 4 percent during the third quarter.

Carry funds are those investment funds that the company advises, including the buyout funds, growth capital funds, real asset funds and distressed debt and mezzanine funds, where the firm receives a special residual allocation of income.

These funds exclude Carlyle's structured credit funds, hedge funds, fund of funds vehicles and the NGP management fee funds.

Releasing the preliminary performance metrics for its carry funds during the third quarter, Carlyle said Corporate Private Equity rose 5 percent with a 5 percent growth in Buyout and a 7 percent increase in Growth Capital.

In Real Assets, the rise was 1 percent, supported by a 3 percent increase in Real Energy. Global Market Strategies grew 2 percent.

Over the past twelve months, Carlyle's carry fund portfolio increased 17 percent.

In comparison, the MSCI All Country World Index or ACWI increased 8 percent during the quarter ending September 30 and climbed 16 percent over the past 12 months.

CG ended down 1 percent on Wednesday at $27.13.
