Canadian Stocks End Win Streak At Five, Valeant Tumbles -- Canadian Commentary

(RTTNews) - Canadian stock market pulled back Tuesday, after returning to action following a 4-day weekend for the Christmas and Boxing Day holidays.

Enery stocks failed to rally along with crude oil prices, while gold and mining stocks also performed badly.

The healthcare sector was also under pressure after Valeant's CEO has taken a medical leave due to illness.

Valeant (VRX.TO) shares tumbled 12 percent.

The S&P/TSX composite index lost 64.05 points to 13,245.75, breaking a five day win streak.

Nymex February oil futures ended 2.9 percent higher at $37.87 a barrel.
