Canadian Solar Q2 Loss Narrows

(RTTNews) - Canadian Solar Inc. (CSIQ), Thursday reported a narrower second-quarter loss, mirroring higher revenues and solar module shipments.

Net loss attributable to Canadian Solar Inc. was $12.6 million or $0.29 per share, compared with net loss of $25.4 million or $0.59 per share during the same quarter last year.

On average, three analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected loss per share of $0.20 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Net revenues for the three-month period increased to $380.3 million from $348.2 million a year ago. Analysts expected the company to report revenues of $419.83 million for the quarter. Solar module shipments were 455 MW, the company said. For the third quarter of 2013, the company expects module shipments to be in the range of about 410 MW to 430 MW and for the full year, the module shipments are expected to be in the range of about 1.6 GW to 1.8 GW.
