Blount Int'l Profit Rises; Stock Up 4%

(RTTNews) - Blount International Inc (BLT) Friday reported first-quarter net earnings of $10.6 million or $0.21 per share compared with $9.3 million or $0.19 per share last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.17 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues for the quarter were $232 million compared with $232.6 million in the prior year.

Looking ahead to fiscal year 2014, the company continues to expect revenues of $925 million to $950 million. Analysts expect revenues of $938.6 million.

Portland, Oregon-based Blount makes equipment and accessories to forestry, lawn and garden, farm, ranch, agriculture, and construction sectors.
