Bio Blast Pharma Loss Widens

(RTTNews) - Bio Blast Pharma Ltd (ORPN) Friday reported third-quarter net loss of $2 million or $0.16 per share compared with a loss of $195 thousand or $0.02 per share last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated a loss of $0.09 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Results for the quarter reflected higher research and general expenses, the company said.

Bio Blast Pharma is a clinical-stage biotechnology company committed to developing therapies for patients with rare and ultra-rare genetic diseases.

On August 5, Bio Blast completed an IPO of 3.2 million ordinary shares at a price of $11.00 per share generating net proceeds of about $31.6 million.

On Friday, the company's shares were trading at $4.66, down $0.07 or 1.48, on the Nasdaq.
