Berry Plastics Group Turns To Profit In Q1

(RTTNews) - Berry Plastics Group, Inc. (BERY) Thursday reported first-quarter net income of $6 million, or $0.05 per share, compared to net loss of $10 million or $0.09 per share last year.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter was $0.18 per share, up from $0.08 per share in the prior year period. On average, eight analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.16 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Sales totaled $1.14 billion, up from $1.07 billion last year, while six analysts expected sales of $1.11 billion for the quarter.
