AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Banker's Toolbox, Inc., leaders in the financial compliance and risk mitigation industry, announced a new scholarship for financial professionals looking to advance their career in the anti-money laundering (AML) field by becoming a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).

In a partnership with the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS), Banker's Toolbox has established five scholarships for the CAMS certification program to promote the importance of anti-money laundering detection, enforcement and prevention. This certification is the gold standard in AML certifications and is internationally recognized by financial institutions, governments and regulators as a true dedication to protecting the financial system against money laundering.

Terri Luttrell, CAMS-Audit, senior manager of strategy and evangelism for Banker's Toolbox, emphasizes the importance of getting a CAMS certification: "You really take your career to the next level when you achieve a CAMS certification. It is a badge of honor that proudly displays your commitment to detecting and preventing money laundering. It is recognized and honored around the world for what it represents."

A CAMS certification does not just impact an individual, but their entire institution. It helps drive a culture of compliance from the top down and proves an institution's commitment to actively and purposefully protecting the financial system against financial crime and preventing illicit funds from entering into it. With the current complexity of financial crimes, institutions need an understanding of new money laundering/fraud trends and a broad understanding of how schemes work. These are the building blocks to successfully protect an institution and why the CAMS certification is so important.

Darrin Hanson, Chief Revenue Officer adds, "Banker's Toolbox understands the importance of continuing education to achieve advanced certifications in the financial industry. Our own staff consists of over 10 CAMS-certified professionals and we recognize the value that represents in detecting and preventing money laundering. We are proud to extend that to helping those in the industry enhance their knowledge of anti-money laundering efforts to set them up for successful careers."

Applications are accepted from October 3November 2 through the Banker's Toolbox website.
