Banco Santander Q3 Profit Increases; Backs FY18 Earnings View

(RTTNews) - Spanish lender Banco Santander SA (BNC.L, BSBR, SAN) reported Thursday that its third-quarter ordinary attributable profit to the Group was 1.68 billion euros, higher than last year's 1.61 billion euros.

Meanwhile, ordinary earnings per share were 0.113 euro, compared to 0.131 euro a year ago.

Net interest income increased to 7.98 billion euros from 7.47 billion euros last year. Net fees edged up to 2.47 billion euros from 2.44 billion euros a year ago.

Gross income for the quarter grew to 11.32 billion euros from 10.96 billion in the prior year.

Looking ahead, the company continues to expect increasing its earnings per share, reaching double digit growth by 2018.
