Baker Hughes Sept. International Rig Count Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Oilfield services provider Baker Hughes Inc. (BHI) Monday announced that its international rig count for September 2013 increased to 1,284 from 1,254 in the same month last year.

The international offshore rig count for the month was 313, an increase from 293 counted in September 2012.

Average U.S. rig count in September was 1,760, down from 1,859 a year earlier. Meanwhile, average Canadian rig count increased to 387 from 355 in the previous year.

Worldwide rig count for the month of September 2013 decreased to 3,431 from 3,468 counted in September 2012, while it was up from 3,416 counted in August 2013.

Baker Hughes Rotary Rig Counts are counts of the number of drilling rigs actively exploring for or developing oil or natural gas in the U.S., Canada and international markets.
