Baker Hughes May Worldwide Rig Count Drops - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Oilfield services provider Baker Hughes, Inc. (BHI) announced that worldwide rig count for May 2015 was 2,127, down 1,244 from the 3,371 counted in May 2014, and also down 141 sequentially from the 2,268 counted in April 2015.

The average U.S. rig count for May was 899, down 970 from the 1,859 counted last year, and also down 87 from the 976 counted in April 2015. The average Canadian rig count for the month was 80, down 82 from the 162 counted last year, and also down 10 from the 90 counted in April 2015.

International rig count for May was 1,158, down 192 from the 1,350 counted in May 2014, and also down 44 from the 1,202 counted in April 2015. The international offshore rig count for the month was 284, down 42 from the 326 counted last year, and also down 16 from the 300 counted in April 2015.
