Aon Q3 Earnings Rise, Tops Consensus
(RTTNews) - Risk and insurance brokerage service provider Aon Plc (AON) said its third-quarter net income from continuing operations attributable to Aon shareholders rose to $256 million or $0.82 per share from $204 million or $0.62 per share a year ago.
Adjusted for certain items, net income per share from continuing operations grew 19 percent to $1.13. On average, 21 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $1.04 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items. Quarterly revenues increased 2 percent to $2.8 billion, primarily driven by a 3 percent growth in organic revenue, partially offset by a 1 percent unfavorable impact from foreign currency translation and a 27 percent decline in investment income due to lower average interest rates. Analysts estimated revenues of $2.83 billion for the quarter.
Risk Solutions total revenue increased 2 percent to $1.8 billion. Retail Brokerage organic revenue increased 4 percent eflecting revenue growth in both the Americas and International businesses.
