Aon Corp Reports 13% Increase In Q4 Earnings

(RTTNews) - Aon Corp (AON) reported earnings for its fourth quarter that advanced compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $633 million, or $2.27 per share. This was higher than $558 million, or $1.89 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $2.09 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 0.3% to $3.29 billion. This was down from $3.30 billion last year.
