AOL and GMC Continue Long-Standing Partnership on "Trade Secrets” Series
AOL and GMC will extend their "Trade Secrets” series partnership for a fifth consecutive year; it was announced today at AOL’s Investor Day in New York. GMC Trade Secrets presents interactive, how-to videos in which leading lifestyle experts share professional grade advice on cooking, home décor and home improvement. This season, celebrity chef Sam Talbot and home & design expert Carter Oosterhouse join home improvement authority Eric Stromer as hosts. GMC’s Sierra Hybrid pickup truck, Acadia Denali crossover, and Terrain smaller SUV are prominently featured in the weekly videos.
"GMC shares AOL’s dedication to presenting high quality content as part of an engaging user-friendly experience,” said Jeff Levick, president, Global Advertising and Strategy, AOL. "In its fifth year, GMC Trade Secrets will provide DIY enthusiasts with even more ways to gain invaluable insights from Sam, Eric, and Carter, with exclusive content available on the series’ new mobile app and social media channels.”
The first installment of the exclusive content, featuring Oosterhouse, is already available on GMCtradesecrets.aol.com, with both Talbot’s and Stromer’s installments premiering in mid to late July.
Series viewers are able to engage with the experts and get exclusive behind-the-scenes content through the GMC "Trade Secrets” social channels. "Trade Secrets” content and videos will be highlighted on AOL Huffington Post Media Group’s Lifestyle sites with exclusive content only available through its mobile app. Viewers will be able to tour virtually each of the GMC vehicles through a 360° experience that speaks to each vehicle’s specific attributes.
"Our customers believe things worth doing are worth doing well, and they seek out and share expert advice,” said John Gasloli, GMC advertising and sales promotion manager. "As a brand known for professional grade vehicles, GMC’s can-do attitude perfectly aligns with ‘Trade Secrets.’”
The entire series offers over 350 two- to five-minute videos, with new content launching every week. Each video features accompanying trade secrets from how to get your kids to eat well to how to remove various stains or add color to your front porch.
Stromer is host of the hit show "Over Your Head,” author of "Do-It-Yourself Family,” and one of People magazine’s "Sexiest Men Alive,” winning the hearts of millions of viewers with his entertaining DIY advice. Voted viewers’ fan favorite on the hit show "Top Chef” and at the forefront of the "integrative kitchen” movement, Talbot is Executive Chef of Imperial No. 9, a sustainable seafood restaurant in New York City, and Executive Chef at the Surf Lodge in Montauk, NY. Oosterhouse is one of America’s most recognized lifestyle experts, as well as host of HGTV’s "Carter Can,” "Red, Hot & Green” and a regular contributor to "The Rachael Ray Show.”
