Annaly Capital Management Turns To Profit In Q2

(RTTNews) - Annaly Capital Management Inc. (NLY) Wednesday reported second-quarter net income available to common shareholders of $1.6 million or $1.64 per share, compared to net loss of $97.7 million or $0.10 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

Excluding special items, net income for the quarter was $464.4 million or $0.47 per share as compared to $529.3 million or $0.54 per share last year.

Net interest income for the period dropped to $548.68 million from $719.88 million last year, while total other income was $1.2 billion, compared to loss of $734.8 million in the year-ago quarter.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.32 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
