Ameriprise Financial Inc. Announces 14% Advance In Q1 Bottom Line

(RTTNews) - Ameriprise Financial Inc. (AMP) reported a profit for its first quarter that gained ground from last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $432 million, or $2.70 per share. This was higher than $378 million, or $2.17 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $2.52 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 4.7% to $2.90 billion. This was up from $2.77 billion last year.
