American Senior Communities Flash Mob Swoops into Indianapolis International Airport to Raise Awareness for Alzheimer's

INDIANAPOLIS, June 15, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Friday, June 2^nd, Indianapolis International Airport visitors were surprised by a flash mob organized by American Senior Communities. The event was created as a means to raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer's Association during Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month, which takes place in June.

The Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet High School cheerleaders teamed up with 50 ASC staff members, caregivers and volunteers to dance for travelers to raise awareness and donate funds for the Alzheimer's Association. As performers strutted their stuff, airport employees and onlookers boogied in the background while reading large signs with Alzheimer's facts printed on them.

The Alzheimer's Association's offers a free helpline which allows families and individuals with Alzheimer's to connect with a licensed social worker. A $25 donation helps support one helpline call, and according to Anne Murray, the Coordinator for the Alzheimer's Association for the Longest Day, last year the association received over 7,000 calls.
