American Science And Engineering Q3 Earnings Fall Amid Shipment Delay
(RTTNews) - American Science and Engineering, Inc. (ASEI), a supplier of X-ray detection solutions, Wednesday reported a fall in earnings and revenue for the third quarter, citing delay of a sizable shipment.
The company also declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.50 per share payable on March 23 to holders of record at February 18.
For the third quarter, earnings fell to $1.56 million, or $0.20 per share, from $6.09 million, or $0.73, in the corresponding quarter last year.
On average, 3 analysts had estimated the company's earnings to be $0.53 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.
Revenue for the 3-month period decreased to $37.8 million from $50.8 million a year earlier.
The company said that without this delay, revenues would have been consistent with previous quarter.
