Air France Passengers Stranded By Cabin Crew Strike
(RTTNews) - Around 900 flights or one in five in service, were grounded due to strike by the Air France crew. The strike has entered into the sixth day, affecting hundreds of thousands of passengers.
The airline is suffering loss of millions of euros at the peak of holiday travel season in France. Until Sunday, more than 150 thousand passengers were affected by the strike. The strike will probably come to an end on Tuesday.
According to reports, around five percent of its long haul flights were cancelled and 20 percent of domestic and medium haul flights were grounded. There were last minute delays and cancellation that really troubled the passengers. The airline company has not published the schedule for the next days.
The crew declared strike, demanding better pay and extension of labor agreement to 3-5 years, while the management agreed for extension of only up to 17 months.
