(RTTNews) - Gainers:
Agilent Technologies Inc. (A) rose 5 percent to $53.19. The company's fourth quarter profit declined from the prior year period, while its adjusted earnings per share topped Wall Street view. At the same time, the company expects first quarter results below analysts' estimates.
Vanda Pharmaceuticals Inc. (VNDA) gained 22 percent to $15.90 based on the news that the Peripheral and Central Nervous System Drugs Advisory Committee to the FDA has backed the company's NDA for tasimelteon, proposed trade name HETLIOZ, for the treatment of Non-24-Hour Disorder in the totally blind.
Tile Shop Holdings, Inc. (TTS) gained 11 percent to $14.44 after closing the day's regular session down by 39 percent. The company denied allegations that its historical financial statements may require restatement along with other accounting irregularities. The company also reaffirmed its 2013 annual guidance. The company noted that it had suspended its relationship with Beijing Pingxiu entity.
Kimberly Clark Corp. (KMB) improved 5 percent to $115.00 based on the news that it plans to pursue a potential tax-free spin-off of its health care business. The spin-off would create a stand-alone, publicly traded health care company with annual net sales of about $1.6 billion.
Decliners:
Nordstrom Inc. (JWN) declined nearly 1 percent to $62.90. The company's third quarter earnings declined from the year-ago quarter, but came above Street view. The company raised the lower end of its full-year earnings guidance range.
