Revenue increased 18 percent and come above the consensus estimate. Comparable restaurant sales rose 5.5 percent driven by increased traffic and from the benefit of one additional trading day in the quarter. The company also raised its comparable restaurant sales growth forecast to low to mid single digit from previously expected flat-to-low single digit comparable restaurant sales.

Align Technology Inc. (ALGN) gained 6 percent to $42.00. The company's second quarter results topped analysts expectations. The company announced the appointment of David White joins as its finance chief and John Graham as marketing chief. Acacia Research Corp. (ACTG) plunged 13 percent to $21.50. The company slipped to a loss in its second quarter, while its non-GAAP earnings per share were sharply below analysts' estimate. Revenues more than halved from the year-ago quarter and also missed the consensus estimate.
