After-market Movers For Feb 6 (ATVI, EXPE, NWSA, OUTR, LNKD, SHPG, FWM)
(RTTNews) - Gainers:
Activision Blizzard, Inc. (ATVI) gained over 7 percent to $18.50. The company's fourth quarter earnings and revenues declined from the year-ago quarter, while its adjusted results topped Street view. At the same time, the company forecast first quarter and 2014 adjusted results below market view.
Expedia Inc. (EXPE) rose 13 percent to $73.55. The company's fourth quarter profit jumped from the prior year period and its adjusted earnings per share topped Street view. Revenue for the quarter rose 18 percent and managed to come above the consensus estimate.
News Corp. (NWSA) gained 3 percent to $16.62. The company's second quarter earnings were lower than in the year-ago quarter, while its adjusted earnings per share topped analysts' estimate. Revenues declined 4 percent, but topped Street view.
Outerwall Inc. (OUTR) rose 10 percent to $70.05. The company's fourth quarter earnings from continuing operations surged from the year-ago quarter. Revenue for the quarter increased 5.4 percent, with Redbox segment revenue gaining 1.7 percent. The company also announced its intent to purchase $350 million of common stock through modified 'Dutch auction' tender offer.

LinkedIn Corp. (LNKD) fell 8 percent to $205.49. The company's fourth quarter results topped analysts' expectations. Meanwhile, the company expects its first quarter and fiscal 2014 revenues below estimates. The company also announced that it agreed to acquire Bright, a company that leverages data insights and matching technology to connect prospects and employers, in a deal valued at about $120 million.
Shire plc (SHPG) was down 5 percent to $146.00 based on the news that Vyvanse did not meet the primary efficacy endpoint in both two pivotal Phase 3 investigational studies evaluating the efficacy and safety of Vyvanse Capsules versus placebo as an adjunctive treatment for major depressive disorder in adults who inadequately responded to antidepressant monotherapy with a SSRI or SNRI.
Fairway Group Holdings Corp. (FWM) declined 15 percent to $9.70. The company's third quarter net loss narrowed from the previous year period. Net sales increased, but missed the consensus estimate. The company also announced that its chief executive Herbert Ruetsch will retire from the company and that William Sanford will assume the interim role.
