AECOM Joint Venture Awarded $285.8-Mln Contract By Thames Water - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - AECOM Technology Corp. (ACM), a provider of professional technical and management support services, announced that a joint venture in which it participates was awarded a contract worth $285.8 million by Thames Water to rebuild Deephams Sewage Treatment Works, one of London's largest sewage works facilities.

AECOM and joint venture partners Murphy and Kier will provide upgrade services to Deephams in order to meet new environment agency sewage treatment standards without disrupting the facility's current operation.

According to the firm, the project will improve the water quality of London's River Lee, increase capacity to allow for future rises in population and significantly reduce the frequency and intensity of odor on site.

Work on the project is set to begin immediately by preparing for the planning application, which is expected to be submitted during summer 2014.
