Advanced Semiconductor Says Baffled By TFTC's Decision On SPIL Combination

(RTTNews) - Advanced Semiconductor Engineering, Inc. (ASX) Wednesday said it is extremely baffled by the Taiwan Fair Trade Commission or TFTC's decision to suspend its review of the proposed combination between ASE and Siliconware Precision Industries Co., Ltd. or SPIL. The company said it deeply regret the decision and it is completely without legal basis and violates the TFTC's own administrative precedents.

The company said it will continue with the plan to acquire 100 percent equity interest in SPIL through all legally permissible means and avenues.

Separately Advanced Semiconductor said it hosted the ASE Group 2015 Best Supplier Awards event and awards were presented to 24 suppliers who had demonstrated extraordinary performance in their support to ASE during 2015.
