Activision Blizzard, United Continental To Join S&P 500

(RTTNews) - S&P Dow Jones Indices LLC, a part of McGraw Hill Financial, Inc. (MHFI), said late Thursday that video-game publisher Activision Blizzard, Inc. (ATVI) will replace Pall Corp. (PLL) in the S&P 500 after the close of trading on Friday, August 28.

S&P 500 constituent Danaher Corp. (DHR) is acquiring Pall in a deal expected to be completed on or about that date pending final approvals.

Airline company United Continental Holdings, Inc. (UAL) will replace Hospira, Inc. (HSP) in the S&P 500 after the close of trading on Wednesday, September 2.

Hospira is being acquired by drugmaker Pfizer Inc. (PFE) in a deal expected to be completed on or about that date.
