Acme Packet Dials Up IP Contact Center Solution for TruGreen
Acme Packet® (NASDAQ: APKT), the leader in session border control solutions, today announced that ServiceMaster, known for its leading brands like TruGreen, Terminix and Merry Maids, is deploying Acme Packet Net-Net® 2600 session border controllers (SBCs) to implement SIP trunking and secure contact center VoIP communications infrastructure for its TruGreen brand. TruGreen has initially centralized call control functions for 63 TruGreen locations and will ultimately extend shared trunking throughout its enterprise network of approximately 225 locations across the United States.
To better serve its growing base of remote locations, TruGreen, the nation’s largest lawn care company, is using Acme Packet Net-Net SBCs to centralize call routing from its corporate headquarters in Memphis, Tenn. The Net-Net SBCs ensure that all of the voice call traffic will be routed and managed by a central call server in the IP network. This will reduce the need for individual trunks at each remote site and provide TruGreen with even more efficient line utilization and cost savings. To support its goal to migrate to an all IP network, TruGreen will continue to use its legacy PBX equipment and leverage the Acme Packet SBC to enable a cost-effective migration to IP packet technology.
Acme Packet’s SBC is designed to provide secure, high-quality, real-time interactive communications for TruGreen’s contact center. At the IP trunking border, TruGreen securely connects to service provider IP networks and benefits from cost-saving and operational advantages. By utilizing SIP trunks instead of ISDN-PRI trunks, TruGreen is able to reduce PSTN call termination costs by routing outbound calls over the service provider IP backbone and support voice applications on existing data networks. As a result, TruGreen will greatly reduce the number of ISDN-PRI trunks it uses.
"For a company like TruGreen, our telephony infrastructure supports the backbone of our business so it was imperative for us to make sure that we had the right partner and technology,” said Shawn Powers, manager of Telecom Engineering, ServiceMaster. "Our decision to use Acme Packet was supported by the Net-Net SBCs integrated functionality, the strategic vision of the company and the strong recommendations from other large enterprises. With an interactive next generation communications platform, we are able to securely streamline many of our internal business practices while providing optimum levels of customer care.”
"As enterprise workforces, such as that at TruGreen, continue to be more dispersed and widespread, a trusted IP communications network infrastructure connecting these highly distributed office locations is more mission-critical than ever,” said Seamus Hourihan, executive vice president of marketing and product management for Acme Packet. "Acme Packet’s Net-Net SBCs securely deliver next-generation communication services to many TruGreen locations, giving employees the advanced IP communications tools necessary to serve their customers more effectively and efficiently.”
