ACMA Achieves Milestone in Membership Growth
LITTLE ROCK, Ark., July 31, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Case Management Association (ACMA) welcomed its 4,000th member Monday. Cynthia Elrod, a care manager at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Ga., joins ACMA as the newest member.
"As a founding board member, it is a gift to see ACMA crest over the 4,000th member during my final year as president. I can recall when six professionals were invited by our now CEO, Greg Cunningham, to discuss the need for an organization that spoke to the case managers in the hospital and health care provider world. Our consistent growth is a testament to ACMA's value to the case manager and the health care community," said ACMA President Dr. Sharon Mass.
ACMA's 4,000 members include residents from all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and five other countries. In addition to holding a national membership, many of these case managers are also active in one of ACMA's 21 local chapters.
ACMA members have access to a variety of discounts and savings, as well as benefits such as the Association's weekly e-newsletter briefCASE, ACMA's bimonthly publication Collaborative Case Management, and the biennial National Hospital Case Management Survey, which is the only source of national benchmarking data for the field of hospital/health system case management. The survey boasts a 95 percent confidence level on more than 75 data elements from more than 400 hospitals.
"This is another proud milestone for ACMA. Our growth continues to represent years of simple grassroots marketing by members and a staff committed to serving them. Their collective pride in the association is reflected in this achievement," said ACMA CEO Greg Cunningham.
Founded in 1999, ACMA is a national, non-profit, professional membership association, which supports the profession of case management in the hospital or health system setting. ACMA members are nurses, social workers, physicians, educators, administrators, and other professionals responsible for providing case management services in hospitals.
