21st Century Fox Q3 Results Top Estimates

(RTTNews) - Twenty-First Century Fox Inc. (FOXA, FOX) reported net income for the third quarter of $1.05 billion or $0.47 per share, compared to $2.85 billion or $1.22 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Income from continuing operations for the third quarter was $1.07 billion or $0.47 per share, compared to $2.53 billion or $1.09 per share in the third quarter of last year.

Excluding items, third quarter adjusted earnings per share was $0.47, compared to $0.32 in the prior year quarter.

Total revenue for the third quarter rose 12% to $8.22 billion from $7.35 billion a year ago.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.35 per share on revenue of $7.99 billion for the third quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
