Investigators Release Photograph of Victim
OTTAWA, Sept. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ - Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are taking the unique step of releasing a photograph of an unidentified man, who died after being seriously injured on Highway 417 in Ottawa.
The incident occurred in the area of the Pinecrest and Greenbank interchange on August 12, 2018 at approximately 10 p.m. The male was transported to hospital but later died from his injuries.
The victim is described as white, 25 to 35 years old, approximately 5' 10", 200 lbs, with short reddish-brown hair and a goatee. When he was found, the man was wearing a t-shirt, Fila shorts which are navy blue with red and white stripes and black Vans shoes, size 12. He had been riding a Louis Garneau mountain bike which was black and silver, with a red water bottle holder and a pink cable lock.
A sketch of the deceased male was released in August, but the OPP has not received any information that would lead to the identification of the victim.
While sensitive to the disturbing nature of the photo, taken after the man's death, the OPP is committed to taking every possible step to identify the victim and bring this investigation to a conclusion.
If you have any information as to the identity of this male, please contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or your nearest police authority. If you would like to remain anonymous, please contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
