European Economics Preview: U.K. Retail Sales Data Due
(RTTNews) - Retail sales from the U.K. and final consumer prices from euro area are due on Thursday, headlining a light day for the European economic news.
At 4.00 am ET, the European Central Bank is set to release euro area current account figures for June. The current account surplus totaled EUR 15.4 billion in May.
Half an hour later, the Office for National Statistics releases U.K. retail sales for July. Economists forecast sales including auto fuel to rise 0.1 percent on a monthly basis in July, reversing a 0.9 percent drop in June.
At 5.00 am ET, Eurozone final consumer prices for July are due. The statistical office is set to confirm 0.7 percent annual fall in prices.
At 7.30 am ET, the European Central Bank is scheduled to issue the accounts of the meeting held on July 20 and 21.
At 8.00 am ET, industrial production and producer prices from Poland are due. Industrial output is expected to drop 5.6 percent in July from June.
At the same time, producer prices are expected to fall 0.4 percent annually after easing 0.7 percent in June.
