Windstream CFO To Be Its REIT's Chief Executive; Names Interim Finance Chief

(RTTNews) - Windstream Corp. (WIN) on Wednesday said Bob Gunderman will be its interim chief financial officer, succeeding Tony Thomas, who has been named president and chief executive of the real estate investment trust or REIT, a new company created by the spinoff of certain Windstream telecommunications assets.

Earlier in July, the company had announced its plans to spin off its telecommunications assets into an independent, publicly traded REIT. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2015. Upon closing, Thomas will leave Windstream to lead REIT.

Further, Windstream said it is conducting a national search to fill the CFO position.

Gunderman, the new interim finance chief, most recently served as senior vice president and treasurer for Windstream. Before joining Windstream in 2008, he was vice president of internal audit for Alltel.
