The team will donate its $5,000 award to the Prism Centre for Audiology and Children's Rehabilitation in Chatham. -- Ontario employee Darrin Canniff led an extraordinary community fundraising campaign totaling $2.4 million CAD to support the Chatham- Kent chapter of the United Way. Canniff also orchestrated a $120,000 CAD fundraiser for his 'Festival of Giving' campaign that supports three local charities. Canniff's $5,000 award will be split into two donations which will go to the United Way of Chatham-Kent as well as the Foundation of Chatham - Kent Health Alliance. -- Ontario Environmental Project Manager, Tony Vadlja demonstrated safety and stewardship outside of the job when he proved that quick thinking and a big heart can literally save a life. Vadlja encountered an overturned car in a water filled ditch on his way to the airport where inside he found a trapped occupant in the car. Unable to release her seat belt and holding her head above water, Tony was eventually able to free the occupant and pulled her to safety, ultimately saving her life. The winners were presented with the checks during a recognition ceremony held June 29 in Houston.
