Rohm and Haas -- Centennial Sponsor -- Presents $100,000 Grant to Settlement Music School at 100th Anniversary Kick-Off Event

Rohm and Haas Company (NYSE:ROH), presenting sponsor of the Settlement Music School Centennial Celebration, presented a $100,000 check at the schools' Centennial Celebration kickoff event. The Bacon Brothers, featuring actor Kevin Bacon and composer Michael Bacon, were on hand to accept the grant on behalf of the school. Anne Wilms, Rohm and Haas Chief Information Officer, awarded the check during festivities held at Philadelphia Northeast Airport. "Rohm and Haas celebrates, honors, and thanks Settlement Music School for its commitment and gift of music to more than 300,000 people and for its recognition that music touches people of all ages and socio-economic status,” Wilms said. Rohm and Haas is a long-time admirer and supporter of Settlement Music School and will mark its own 100th anniversary in 2009. "From one long-time Philadelphia institution to another, we’re pleased to participate in this unique celebration,” says Wilms. The school plans a host of activities throughout 2008 to commemorate its 100th anniversary. The grant from Rohm and Haas will support public concerts, recitals, a lecture series and a gala dinner to showcase students, faculty and alumni. Rohm and Haas has a history of supporting the economic, social and environmental quality of life in the communities where it operates. The company’s Responsible Neighbor Community Programs includes employee volunteerism, dialogue, giving programs. The company awarded more than 150 grants in 2007.
