RealPage Chief Legal Officer David Monk Named General Counsel of the Year for a Mid-Sized Law Department

RealPage, Inc. (NASDAQ:RP), a leading global provider of software and data analytics to the real estate industry, announced today that its Chief Legal Officer and Executive Vice President David Monk was awarded 2017 General Counsel of the Year for a mid-sized law department by the Association of Corporate Counsel DFW chapter in conjunction with the Texas Lawbook.

"The Texas Lawbook and the Association of Corporate Counsel are proud to recognize the great legal work David has done for RealPage," said Texas Lawbook founder Mark Curriden. "David has guided the company through more than 30 corporate acquisitions since he joined RealPage in 2010, including five in 2017."

"Lawyers widely recognize that David is excellent at explaining complex legal issues so that it is easy for business executives to understand and make the appropriate decisions,” Curriden said.

Over 320 North Texas law professionals attended the event, and seven categories of awards were given. An esteemed panel of judges reviewed each submission.

Prior to joining RealPage in 2003, Monk spent over 17 years in the corporate department at Baker Botts in Dallas, where he became partner in 2001. He specialized in M&A, securities offerings, and high-stakes technology outsourcing transactions. Monk and his team represented EDS during its split-off from General Motors.

"David is a huge asset to RealPage,” says RealPage CEO Steve Winn. "His deep insight, strategic thinking, and resolute legal support are invaluable as we continue to pursue our rapid growth strategy.”

The award was delivered at the Outstanding Corporate Counsel Awards, held at the Bush Institute in Dallas, Texas on January 25.
