Plantronics Inc. Q3 Income Retreats 5%

(RTTNews) - Plantronics Inc. (PLT) announced a profit for third quarter that retreated compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line dropped to $26.07 million, or $0.79 per share. This was down from $27.53 million, or $0.83 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.82 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 3.2% to $232.93 million. This was up from $225.74 million last year.
