Palm Beach Breakers 18 & Under AA Team Wins State of Florida Championship in Stunning Overtime Victory
PALM BEACH, Fla., March 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Palm Beach Breakers Under 18 Double-A team came back from an 0-2 deficit against the Gulf Coast Flames to win the Florida State Championship with a 3-2 victory in a tense overtime game.
The Breakers, led by Head Coach Ryan Sittler, assistant coaches Brian Marro and Timmy Plummer, conditioning coach Justin Jantzen, and team owner Lori Alf, now head to Lansing, Michigan for the USA Hockey National Championship in April. During the upcoming National Championship, the Breakers will compete with the Nation's best 32 teams in a winner take all tournament lasting five days and some of the most intense competition anywhere in the world for the Under 18 competitive hockey bracket.

The Breakers' victory is a dramatic ending to the team's regular season, which included 15 regular league games and a grueling 6 tournaments with an additional 25 competitive matches.
The Breakers entered the state Championships ranked third and outplayed the Scorpions and the Gulf Coast Flames to win it all. With the wind in their sails, the team is now focused on winning the most competitive hockey tournament in the United States, the USA Hockey National Championship, an intense matchup of the country's fiercest Under 18 hockey teams from April 6-10, 2017. Due to the team's regular season rigor, the Breakers already have experience playing many of the top-ranked teams expected to compete at Nationals.
