No More Nudity On Instagram
(RTTNews) - Instagram, the photo sharing app owned by Facebook Inc, has updated its community guidelines to disallow nudity and harassment in uploaded photos and pictures, as well as cyber bullying.
Content deemed inappropriate as per the updated guidelines include photos, videos and some digital content showing sexual intercourse, genitals and close-ups of buttocks.
"We know that there are times when people might want to share nude images that are artistic or creative in nature," Instagram is reported to have said. "But for a variety of reasons, we don't allow nudity on Instagram."
However, the updated guidelines allow some photos of female nipples—like post-mastectomy scarring and women breastfeeding, as also nudity in photos of paintings and sculptures.
If a user is offended by Instagram content, one has to just tap the three-dot button below an image to "Report Inappropriate."
The Instagram update also said it does not allow threats of harm to public or personal health, or encouraging violence based on someone's race, ethnicity, nationality, sex, or gender.
