Nike Inc Earnings Rise 7% In Q2

(RTTNews) - Nike Inc (NKE) revealed a profit for its second quarter that rose compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $842 million, or $0.50 per share. This was higher than $785 million, or $0.45 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.43 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 6.4% to $8.18 billion. This was up from $7.69 billion last year.
